Discover Istanbul like never before at the Rakkas Istanbul Festival 2026 – a vibrant, inspiring celebration of oriental dance, culture and creativity. From Friday 19 June through Monday 22 June, you’ll be immersed in an extraordinary program designed for passionate dancers and enthusiasts alike.
On the arrival day (19 June), you’ll check into the Kalyon Hotel and meet your fellow participants at the Rakkas Istanbul Info Desk, where your welcome gift awaits. That evening, set the tone with a glamorous Grand Opening Gala Show (18:30 photos & red-carpet, 20:00 show) — dress elegant and sparkling for a night of entertainment and networking.
Saturday 20 June begins a full workshop day (09:00–18:30) followed by the “Oriental Dance Star 2026” Competition at 20:00, offering categories for both amateurs and professionals, including Turkish style, show fusion, folklore and Golden Age. Winners will receive a 50 % discount toward the 2027 festival.
Sunday 21 June continues with workshops (09:00–18:30), and the evening features the Open Stage World Show & Closing Gala Show (20:00) — this is your chance to perform solo, duet, trio or group, in any style from raks sharqi to tribal fusion to Bollywood. Participation is free but places are limited.
On Monday 22 June, we bid farewell to Istanbul and to new friends. Check-out is by 12:00, but those who wish may extend their stay or join optional tours to Bursa or Çanakkale.
Throughout the festival you’ll also browse the Costume Bazaar at your hotel — an exceptional opportunity to select your dream dance costume.

Serkan Tutar
Meet Serkan Tutar – an internationally acclaimed Turkish dance master, awarded ‘Male Bellydancer of the World 2008’ and acclaimed worldwide for his unique fusion of Turkish, Egyptian and gypsy-inspired dance styles. Based in Belgium, he has performed and taught workshops across Europe, Asia and North America. With Serkan guiding your tour, you’ll not only explore hidden gems of Turkey but also immerse in vibrant cultural experiences through his dynamic, engaging storytelling and movement.
