About the Leaders
Ozgen Ozgec
Ozgen is an internationally acclaimed Turkish dancer, teacher, choreographer and director. Specialising in Turkish Oriental and Romany (Gypsy) dance, Ozgen is regularly invited to give workshops in Britain and abroad, and to perform at international dance events and Belly dance festivals across Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul. The amazing capital of Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. This is the only city in the world located on two continents. Istanbul is one of the world’s greatest cities, where millions of people from many different cultures live and contribute to the colours of the city.
Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport by one of our staff members and transferred to your hotel located in the heart of the city.
After checking in and refreshing, this evening you will meet your teachers, guide and the rest of the group.
Tonight we will have a welcome dinner in a nice traditional restaurant in Kumkapi, where we will enjoy a delicious fish dinner along with Gypsy musicians.
Day 2
Istanbul
Here we go...
Today after breakfast, we will be transferred to the studio for our first belly dancing workshop with Ozgen. (2 hours)
This afternoon is free at your leisure to enjoy the amazing city.
Optional: Enjoy an amazing dinner and cabaret show at famous Cahide Muzikhol.
Day 3
Istanbul
Our second belly dancing workshop takes place this morning after breakfast. Ozgen will teach us the basics and essentials of Oriental Dance (2 hours)
Optional: Reyhan is probably the most popular local Romani Dance teacher in Türkiye. Join a 2 hour class with her to pick some of her authentic flow.
Day 4
Bosphorus & Cappadocia
After breakfast, transfer to the studio for our final belly dancing workshop in Istanbul with Ozgen. (2 hours)
After our workshop and a lunch break, we will spend the afternoon, cruising along the Bosphorus Strait separating Europe and Asia while we are enjoying the beautiful views of mosques, palaces and old houses along the shore.
This evening we will take a domestic flight to magical land Cappadocia.
Tonight, watch a whirling dervish ceremony in a historical Caravansarai, and after the ceremony you will also have the chance to sit and discuss with the dervishes about Sufi philosophy and rituals.
We will spend our first night in Cappadocia staying in a cave hotel.
Day 5
Cappadocia
Our workshop this morning will take place in our hotel’s terrace in front of the magnificent views of Cappadocia. Enjoy dancing in a truly mystical atmosphere and get your cameras ready for great shots. (2 hours)
After our workshop, we will start a guided tour of the riches of this incredible “moonscape” of Cappadocia including the Goreme Open-Air Museum, with its dozens of painted cave-churches. The surrealistic geological formation of Cappadocia is one of the wonders of the world. It is the result of the natural forces during the intense volcanic activity. Other visits are to Devrent Valley, Pasabag Fairy Towers, and Uchisar Castle, as well as many panoramic photos, stops. Then we will continue to the pottery-making village of Avanos where you watch clay turning into a form of artwork and drive to the hotel.
Optional: Take a professional photo shooting session in Cappadocia with amazing views of fairy chimneys and balloons.
You can either book an afternoon or morning session at the best times of the sunlight. Balloon views are available only during early morning.
Day 6
Cappadocia
Optional: Rise early this morning for a hot air balloon ride over magnificent views of Cappadocia.
Today our first stop is Kaymakli Underground City, one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia, where early Christians hid from prosecutors. We will continue our tour with Cavusin, and Zelve Open Air Museum. Finally, we visit, an old Greek town Mustafapasa (Sinasos) with fine examples of late Greek settlements and architecture.
Optional: Tonight let’s enjoy a traditional Turkish night with wonderful dinner with mezes, meat/fish, desserts and drinks while watching belly dance and folk dance shows.
Day 7
Departure
Today, after breakfast, our tour ends. You can spend a few more days in Cappadocia, turn back to Istanbul, you can connect to your international flight or you can travel south of Türkiye for some beach time.
